Engine control – TPO camshaft position sensor

Product Description

This camshaft position sensor is used for key engine control functions: Engine synchronization: Allows the ECU to identify, from the first engine rotations, the relative position of the crankshaft and camshafts to define the injection sequence. VVT (Variable Valve Timing) control: Enables closed-loop management of camshaft phasers for reduced pollutant emissions and fuel consumption. Engine operation safety: Can be used as a backup sensor for the crankshaft sensor.

The sensor is mounted in the engine’s valve cover area and detects the teeth of targets placed on the camshafts. It must ensure perfect oil-tight sealing. When supplied with both sensor and magnetic target, EFI Automotive guarantees high precision performance by integrating both components. The additional advantage of a magnetic target is its mechanical balance (no imbalance), eliminating any target machining operations. Additionally, it helps limit oil splashing and offers robustness in TPO.
